Patriots Hall of Fame

Former New England linebacker Andre Tippett was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on November 15th, 1999.

Tippett, who holds the team record with 100 sacks, was honored during a pre-game ceremony before a Monday night game against the New York Jets. The weekend was Alumni Weekend for the Patriots' organization, and several former New England players were on hand to see Tippett be honored.

Tippett played 12 seasons for the Patriots, and tied cornerback Michael Haynes’ team record for a defensive player by going to five consecutive Pro Bowls. He was a second round draft pick in 1982, and in 1984 he set a franchise record with 18.5 sacks.

Tippett is the 10th player inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame. He joins John Hannah, Michael Haynes, Nick Buoniconti, Gino Cappelletti, Bob Dee, Steve Grogan, Jim Lee Hunt, Steve Nelson, and Vito "Babe" Parilli as members of the select group.
